Guarantee the Internet access of the first domestic intelligent LNG-powered guardian vessel

I. Start of project implementation

After receiving the project, all parties made sufficient preparation. The marketing department held the project kick-off meeting, the engineering operation and maintenance department immediately organized a team of professional engineers to carry out the implementation, with project manager Xia Zhao leading the overall work, engineering manager Hu Tianwen responsible for technical research and overall network solution planning, design and implementation, engineer Qu Hongbo and Liang Jixiang responsible for the installation and commissioning of the customer headquarters shore-side controller equipment and ship-side branch equipment installation and deployment, respectively. Engineer Zhang Bin is responsible for the preparation and testing of the test cases involved in the project. With reasonable division of labor and efficient cooperation, the staffs are fully committed to their work.

II. Successfully complete the overall construction of the project

There were more equipment to be installed in the ship, and each equipment and accessory needed to be installed at a reasonable location, and cable placement had to be carried out in strict accordance with construction standards. Engineer Liang Jixiang kept communicating and coordinating available resources with the person in charge of the shipyard, and reported the construction progress to the shipowner every day, so as to promote the construction progress of the ship end in an orderly manner; Qu Hongbo, who was responsible for the installation and deployment of equipment at the customer's headquarters, carried out the process application and safety review in accordance with the requirements, and completed the installation of the controller equipment in the customer's server room. After nearly 2 weeks of hard work, the first communication between the ship and the customer's headquarter system was completed on time, which also marked the successful establishment of the network channel.

 III. The first time on board, start a new trail experience

At the stage of sea trial and acceptance, at the request of the customer, the company arranged me to accompany the ship on the trial to ensure normal data communication between the ship and shore during the trial. According to the commissioning plan, we had to live and eat on the ship like the crew for more than half a month, and the captain assigned us a special dormitory to facilitate communication and work. When I received the brand new living supplies, I felt a little bit of novelty and excitement, and started to look forward to the next work and life on board.

IV. The sea trial was in full swing, and start the tests of the whole ship

     After attending the online meeting held by the client to clarify the requirements and tasks of the trial voyage, the trial voyage was fully started. The two ships will depart from Wuhan shipyard under the tow of the tugboat and go downstream along the Yangtze River until Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, for the ship experiment. I started to carefully check the status of the cabinets and equipment of the ship, and tested the operation of the network of the ship. After several tests, I ensured that the network communication between the ship and shore was normal, made detailed test records and reported to the customer.

V. Ready to respond and solve the possible failure, always meet customer needs

  On the second day of sea trial, the customer suddenly called, "Now the network of the 547 ship cannot access the server on the shore, hurry to investigate and solve the problem! "Okay, I have received the system alarm information, I will immediately investigate". After hanging up the phone, I immediately opened the cabinet with my laptop, connected the equipment, check the equipment network operation status. After step-by-step troubleshooting, I finally locate the cause of the failure, quickly restored the communication of the 547 ship, observe the stable operation, and immediately reported the results to the customer.

   During the work, a new request was made by the client - transmit video surveillance back. I communicated with the company's project team members online on the same day and confirmed the solution. After a few days of hard work, finally the customer was able to see the video surveillance screen of the ship at the headquarters, and the new requirement was successfully completed!" .

   After work, I stood on the deck outside the ship's cabin, blowing the gentle river breeze and enjoying the beautiful sunset of the Yangtze River.

VI. Successful completion of sea trial voyage

After the two ships docked in Nanjing to complete their experiments and refueling, they began sailing autonomously, all the way from Shanghai out of the Yangtze River to the sea for offshore navigation tests.

At sea, the boat started to lurch and sway due to the wind and waves. It was my first time to sail on a ship at sea, and I was not surprised to have seasickness, but fortunately I brought seasickness medicine in advance, and my symptoms were relieved after taking the medicine. After a short rest, I went to the cockpit cabinet to check the operation status of the equipment and the network connectivity of the ship, and reported the status of the ship's network to the customer.

The ship has reached the test sea area and the land is no longer visible by visual sight. The system automatically switches to the satellite network to ensure normal ship-shore communication. During the 24 hours at sea, I would record, check and test the operation of the ship-side network from time to time. Finally, I was relieved when the captain announced on the radio that we would return to shore tonight.

During the trial voyage, the network of the ship operated well, and the communication with the shore had been established normally, and the nearly half a month trial voyage was successfully completed.

VII. Project delivered, receive recognition and praise from the client

The sea trial was successfully completed and the project entered the delivery and acceptance phase. In order to ensure the smooth implementation of the live CCTV interview, the customer project team put forward the on-site network support requirements, and I once again set foot on HAI YANG SHI YOU 542.

After communicating with the customer to confirm the new demand, I went to work to plan and implement the live dedicated network solution. Under the hot sun with a safety cap, I climbed on the deck to inspect the antenna, install the communication card, debug and verify point by point, after an afternoon of hard work, the direct Internet for live broadcast has been available.

     In the next few days, I communicated with the customer to check and solve the connectivity problem of live broadcast on board, cooperated with CCTV reporters to rehearse and confirm the live broadcast plan, and supported the work of wireless network deployment on board. During the period, the positive working attitude and full commitment to customer service performance won the customer's affirmation and praise. At last, the customer expressed gratitude to the project team and the company, as well as a letter of commendation.

In the report, CNOOC and CSIC jointly announced to the public that the first batch of domestic intelligent LNG-powered guardian vessels designed and built independently by China- "HAI YANG SHI YOU 542" "HAI YANG SHI YOU 547" were delivered in Qidong Offshore Ship Industrial Park. The delivery of the vessels marks another key step in the transformation of China's offshore oil equipment to digitalization and intelligentialize.
